Fall News

I'm happy to be playing some nice gigs with great musicians in the coming months.  I'll be playing with guitarist Jeff Parker and his organ quartet on Mondays in September and October at Andy's Jazz Club.  On Tuesdays, I'll be with my organ trio at Pete Miller's in Wheeling, IL.  My quartet will be playing a weekend at Pop's for Champagne in late November, and again at Andy's in late December.  I'm also appearing frequently with Brazilian vocalist/guitarist Paulinho Garcia at various venues in the coming months.  Visit the Shows for all of the details.  Hope to see some of you out!

On the educational side, I'm enjoying a couple of new opportunities.  I'm teaching out of a great studio in Evanston, IL, operated by fellow saxophonist/educator/recording artist Greg Fishman, who recently moved to Arizona.  I've also been invited to workshop with the students of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz program in Chicago, and at Northwestern University.  It's great to work with these students as they learn and play jazz.

Hope to see you soon, thanks for visiting my site!

Summer News

It's been a busy summer so far! Currently, I'm happy to have a few weekly gigs in Chicagoland. On Mondays, I've been playing with guitarist Kyle Asche's quartet at Andy's Jazz Club. On Tuesdays, I've been playing with my organ trio, which includes Pete Benson on organ, and Brian Ritter on drums. I've had a few gigs with NYC drummer Pete Zimmer in Chicago and Milwaukee, which have been a blast.  In August, I have a few festival dates in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Champaign, IL.  For a complete calendar, check the Shows page for details.

I've also been busy teaching future stars of jazz at Northwestern University's High School Music Institute, which I get a charge out of. The students come form all across North America.  It's always great to see younger musicians digging on jazz music, we need more like them!

More shows are in the works, so please check back for updates. Until then, enjoy the music from my CD on the Music page.  You can also visit me at Myspace, because everybody's doing it, right?
