post-COVID news

As COVID cases are declining, vaccinations rates are increasing, and venues start opening up for public performances, I’m happy to begin performing live for audiences again after a long pandemic hiatus. It has been a tough 15 months for the Chicago music community, and we are eager to share our music with you again in public!

I’m thrilled to collaborate with fantastic saxophonists Geof Bradfield and John Wojciechowski or an upcoming recording for The Jazz Place/AFAR Music Productions , scheduled for July 2021. More to come as info becomes available.

I’ll also be performing with my quartet (live and streaming) at Fulton Street Collective in late August, where we will present a classic album, drummer Pete LaRoca’s Turkish Women At The Bath. This 1967 album features Chicago saxophonist John Gilmore (a veteran of the Sun Ra Arkestra) and pianist Chick Corea. More details to come…

May/June 2016 performances

I'm excited to have some nice gigs upcoming, see the Performances page for complete details.  I'll be playing with the George Fludas quartet and quintet on May 12-14 at Andy's Jazz Club, along with pianist Ron Perrillo, and bassist Dennis Carroll.  That rhythm section is the same line-up on my album Passages, on Origin Records, and they are a dream-team of a rhythm section to play with!  Joining us on the weekend will be trombonist Tom Garling, who is one the finest jazz trombonists and composer/arrangers you will hear anywhere.  I'm looking forward to three consecutive nights of music-making with these fine musicians!

The following week on May 20th, I'll be performing with the Chicago Jazz Orchestra for the Symphony Center Presents Jazz series: "A Tribute to Sarah Vaughan with Dee Alexander, Ann Hampton Calloway, and René Marie".  Join us as we celebrate one of the greatest singers in the history of jazz!  Info and tickets are available HERE.

On the heels of our performance at Symphony Center, the Chicago Jazz Orchestra will record a live album at S.P.A.C.E. in Evanston, Illinois on June 7th.   We are excited to document our ensemble in a live setting!  Details and tickets are available HERE.

I hope to see you at the performances above, and more updates are coming soon!
